Last updated: September 29, 2026

Applies to: koave.org, koave.art, and related services

To request a removal, use the Report Content form or email removals@koave.art.

1. Purpose and Scope

This Intimate Image Removal Policy explains how Koave, LLC (“Koave,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) accepts and responds to requests to remove nonconsensual intimate visual depictions from koave.org, koave.art, and related services. Together, those services are the “Platform.”

This Policy implements Koave’s obligations under the TAKE IT DOWN Act (Pub. L. 119-12) and applicable Federal Trade Commission regulations. It applies to real intimate images and to digitally altered or AI-generated intimate images, including images commonly known as deepfakes. This Policy is referenced by and incorporated into Section 15.2 of Koave’s Terms of Service (“Terms”).

2. Definitions

“Nonconsensual Intimate Image” means an intimate visual depiction of an identifiable individual that is real, digitally altered, or AI-generated, including a deepfake, and that was created or distributed without the depicted individual’s consent. The term includes images that realistically appear to depict the individual even if the depicted conduct did not occur.

“Depicted Individual” means the person shown or represented in a Nonconsensual Intimate Image.

“Requestor” means the person who submits a removal request under this Policy. The Requestor must be the Depicted Individual or an authorized representative of the Depicted Individual.

“Platform” means koave.org, koave.art, and the related services operated by Koave.

3. Who May Submit a Removal Request

A removal request may be submitted by:

  • the Depicted Individual;
  • a parent or legal guardian acting for a minor Depicted Individual; or
  • an attorney or other authorized agent acting with the Depicted Individual’s written consent or other valid legal authority.

Koave may ask a representative for proof of authorization.

4. How to Submit a Removal Request

Submit your removal request through our Report Content form, or by email to removals@koave.art. To help us locate the content and confirm that the request is valid, include all of the following:

  • the Requestor’s name and email address;
  • a description of the image or images sufficient to locate them on the Platform, such as URLs, account names, listing or message details, or other identifying information;
  • a statement that the Requestor is the Depicted Individual or is authorized to act on the Depicted Individual’s behalf; and
  • a statement that the image was published on the Platform without the Depicted Individual’s consent.

Please provide accurate information. Koave will use the information in the request to review and process it and may contact the Requestor if additional information is needed.

5. Koave’s Response and Removal Timeline

When Koave receives a valid and complete removal request:

  • we will promptly acknowledge receipt;
  • within 48 hours after receipt, we will remove or disable access to the identified image or images, along with any known copies or reproductions on the Platform, consistent with the TAKE IT DOWN Act; and
  • we will make reasonable efforts to identify and remove known copies or reproductions of the image on the Platform.

If a request is incomplete, we will notify the Requestor of the deficiency. The 48-hour period begins when Koave receives the information needed to make the request valid and complete.

6. Notice to the Posting User

Koave will notify the user who posted the image that the image has been removed or disabled and will explain the basis for the action. We will not disclose the Requestor’s identity or contact information to the posting user.

7. Consequences for Posting Nonconsensual Intimate Images

Posting, uploading, or distributing Nonconsensual Intimate Images is a material violation of the Terms. Consistent with Section 15.2 of the Terms, a violation may result in immediate account termination and referral to law enforcement.

8. False or Fraudulent Removal Requests

Submitting a materially false removal request may result in liability under federal law, including the TAKE IT DOWN Act. Koave may deny a request, or reverse a removal, if Koave determines that the request was submitted in bad faith or contains materially false information.

9. Reposting Prohibited

After an image has been removed or disabled in response to a valid removal request, reposting the same or a substantially similar image is a separate violation of the Terms and may result in immediate, permanent account termination.

10. Interaction with Other Removal Processes

This Policy is separate from Koave’s Digital Millennium Copyright Act (“DMCA”) takedown process under Section 15.1 of the Terms. Submit copyright-related removal requests through the DMCA process described in that section.

If a request concerns both copyright infringement and nonconsensual intimate imagery, Koave will process the request under whichever process provides the fastest removal.
